Support for the Parent Behind the Diagnosis.

Your child's diagnosis is not a life sentence of burnout.

It is a call for better support, stronger systems, and a more sustainable way forward.

At The Parental Anchor, I help parents move from constant crisis management to greater stability, resilience, and confidence.

Using evidence-informed psychology, practical family systems, and long-term planning, I help you protect your wellbeing, strengthen your family, and build a future that feels manageable again.

Because supporting your child should not require sacrificing yourself.

Welcome to a space built for the person holding it all together: YOU!

My Mission: Reclaiming Stability in the Neurodivergent Home

Most people believe that a neurodivergent diagnosis comes with an inevitable cost: exhaustion, overwhelm, and a life spent reacting to the next crisis.

I believe something different.

A diagnosis is not a sentence to burnout.

It is a signal that the family needs stronger support, clearer systems, and a sustainable way forward.

For years, I have worked with parents raising neurodivergent children and witnessed the same pattern repeatedly. Parents are given information about their child's needs, therapy recommendations, educational plans, and endless responsibilities. Yet very little attention is given to the person expected to coordinate it all.

The parent.

The one attending meetings, managing appointments, advocating at school, navigating family relationships, protecting their career, worrying about the future, and carrying the emotional weight of every decision.

My work focuses on that person.

As a psychologist, I help parents move beyond survival mode and build the resilience, structure, and confidence needed to support both themselves and their families over the long term.

I don't offer quick fixes or unrealistic promises.

I provide evidence-informed guidance, practical systems, and a framework that helps parents regain a sense of stability, clarity, and control.

Because you have spent long enough simply getting through the day.

It's time to build a way of living that works for both you and your child.

The Origin: Why The Parental Anchor Exists

Throughout my professional work with families, I noticed something that deeply concerned me.

The child was receiving support.

The parent was expected to cope.

Again and again, I met capable, intelligent, committed parents who were doing everything they could for their children while quietly sacrificing themselves in the process.

Many were experiencing chronic stress, strained relationships, career disruption, social isolation, and constant uncertainty about the future.

They were not failing.

They were carrying an extraordinary amount with very little support designed specifically for them.

The Parental Anchor was created to change that.

This is a place where parents can access professional guidance that acknowledges the realities of raising a neurodivergent child while also protecting the wellbeing, identity, and future of the parent.

Because supporting your child should not require losing yourself.

Is This For You?

If you are:

  • Constantly juggling school meetings, therapies, work, and family life

  • Exhausted from carrying the responsibility of advocacy

  • Worried about the impact on your relationships, career, or wellbeing

  • Looking for practical support rather than generic parenting advice

  • Thinking about your child's future and wondering how to prepare

Then you are in the right place.

The Parental Anchor was created for parents who want more than survival. It was created for parents who want sustainable systems, stronger foundations, and a future built with intention rather than crisis management.

Start building a family life that feels more stable, sustainable, and aligned with what matters most.

Through personalised 1-to-1 mentorship, I work directly with the person behind the parent—helping you strengthen resilience, navigate complex systems with confidence, protect important relationships, and create a clearer path forward for your family.

Together, we focus on reducing overwhelm, building practical systems, strengthening advocacy skills, and planning for the future with greater clarity and confidence.

This is not about becoming a "perfect" parent. It is about becoming a supported, informed, and empowered one. Because when the anchor is stronger, the entire family benefits.

The Anchor Partnership

You Are the Anchor. But Who Supports You?

When a child is diagnosed as neurodivergent, support systems quickly begin to form around them.

Therapists.

Teachers.

Specialists.

Support plans.

And rightly so.

Children deserve every opportunity to thrive.

But somewhere along the way, the person coordinating all of it is often forgotten.

The parent.

The one managing appointments, attending meetings, advocating at school, navigating family relationships, balancing work responsibilities, and carrying the emotional weight of every decision.

For years, I have worked at the intersection of psychology, education, and human systems. Again and again, I saw the same pattern:

Parents were expected to be the anchor for everyone else, yet very few people were supporting them.

That observation became the foundation of The Parental Anchor.

Because when the parent is overwhelmed, exhausted, and operating in survival mode, every part of family life becomes harder.

Supporting the parent is not separate from supporting the child.

It is part of supporting the child.

Meet Elena Arsene, M.S.

I hold a Master's degree in Psychology focused on parental wellbeing, a university degree in Educational Psychology, and bring over a decade of experience in corporate Human Resources.

My work combines evidence-informed psychology, behavioral science, family systems thinking, and practical strategy to help parents create sustainable foundations for family life.

My approach is informed by:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Positive Psychology

  • Mindfulness-Based Practices

  • Nervous System Regulation

  • Family Systems Thinking

I do not believe parents need more pressure, more guilt, or more impossible standards.

I believe they need practical tools, realistic support, and systems that work in real life.

The Four Pillars of The Parental Anchor:

  1. Mental Resilience

Develop the emotional capacity, flexibility, and self-awareness needed to navigate ongoing challenges without becoming consumed by them.

  1. Structure Across School, Work and Therapies

Create systems that reduce overwhelm, improve organization, and help you manage competing demands more effectively.

  1. Family and Relationship Stability

Protect the relationships that matter most, including your partner relationship, sibling dynamics, and wider support network.

  1. Legacy and Future Planning

Build greater confidence about the future by preparing for your child's long-term needs and creating sustainable plans for your family.
